Each year, I select a Word of the Year to guide my personal and professional focus. As Regional Director of Operations at Arrow for CedarStone Senior Living in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the start of a new year feels like the perfect opportunity to reset, refocus, and prepare for what lies ahead. My chosen word serves as an anchor, shaping how I lead my team, support families, and care for residents. Reflecting on 2024, I am amazed at how much this practice has influenced my journey.
My Word of the Year for 2024 was transition. This word reflected our community’s integration into the Arrow family. The process brought significant changes, fostered new connections, and preserved many familiar elements that define our community.
Transition guided our decisions and actions throughout the year. It strengthened relationships, encouraged growth, and provided a framework for navigating change with intention. By embracing this theme, we successfully adapted to a new chapter while staying true to our core values.
The lessons learned during this year of transition have shaped my vision for 2025. Having successfully integrated into the Arrow family and experienced growth on both personal and professional levels, we are now ready to move forward with confidence.
